We are pleased to announce that we will hold our 3rd Colloquium on June 17 (Tue).<\/p>\n

We have invited Professor Kiyoshi Nakabayashi as a lecturer to our colloquium for an exchange and discussion.<\/p>\n

Those wishing to participate in this colloquium should reserve a spot in advance. (Number of participants: 50 for Nishi-Waseda and 20 for IPS; on a first come, first served basis)<\/p>\n

Title:<\/td>\nStructuring and Reuse of Learning Contents

Overview:<\/td>\nIn recent years, the use of information technology in education\u2014so-called e-learning\u2014is becoming ever more common, and the technology to develop and offer high-quality contents efficiently is becoming increasingly important.
\nThe focus of this lecture will be the structuring and reuse of such learning contents.
\nIn particular, I would like to discuss the future of the design and development of learning contents from the standpoint of effective learning design and development based on the instructional design theory in the educational technology field, and product value improvement through standardization and modularization in the information technology field.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Lecturer’s biography:<\/td>\nCompleted his master’s degree in 1982 at the Graduate School of Engineering of Tokyo Institute of Technology.
\nEntered Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation in the same year and worked as a principal researcher in the NTT Communications and Information Processing Laboratories.
\nWorked as general manager of the learning portal division of NTT Resonant Inc.
\nBecame a professor at the Center of ICT and Distance Education (CODE) of The Open University of Japan.
\nBecame a professor at the Faculty of Information and Computer Science of Chiba Institute of Technology in 2010.
\nBecame Vice Chairperson of e-Learning Consortium Japan and Vice President of the Japanese Society for Information and Systems in Education.
\nBecame Chairperson of special committee SC36 of the Information Processing Society of Japan\/Information Technology Standards Commission of Japan.
\nCompleted his Ph.D. in 2006 at the Graduate School of Human Sciences, Waseda University (Ph.D. in human sciences).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
